<p>The process of writing effective and relevant training objectives is to first have a more empirical knowledge of how we learn. It also involve having a clear understanding and the proper usage of the three main domains, first the learning domain and second the methodology.</p>
<p><strong>What is a Training Objective?</strong></p>
<p>Training objectives are carefully crafted instructional designed short individual phrases or statements that will help the learner reach the goals of the final course objective one step, sentence, paragraph, quiz, one screen at a time.</p>

<p>Training objective origins are identified by observation, perhaps a small retail manager notices a higher than normal customer exit rate without purchase. The identified problems or issues are to then be written and described as descriptive as possible. Thereafter, start to separate and organize the description into a list of subjects. Picking one subject at a time, further break into subject topics  into the shortest, yet descriptive two to three word  items. <p>With the stage set for creating learning objectives. The next step is to determine the appropriate domain. Cognitive(Mental process), Behavioral(Performance), Affective(Emotion.) Your choice of domain will dictate the correct instructional correct term to apply to the objective. If using the cognitive domain the proper term is <em>learning objective</em>, behavioral is <em>performance objective and</em> affective is<em> attitude objective.</em> A high percentage of all training objectives are written for the cognitive and behavioral domains.</p>
