Instructional Design Basics Overview

If you are new to ISD, familiarize yourself with the most popular instructional model being used to develop training courses, that is the ADDIE Model. The acronyms represent Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluation (ADDIE).

These are the five development phases in this particular ISD model, and each phase should be employed in the productions of producing quality course development.

Each development phase is crucial from developing the introduction screen, in identifying performance needs, clarifying the course terminal objective and help in creating a well focused initial course outline which in itself will serve as a good foundation for building a successful better e-Learning courses.

The ADDIE Process is crucial in maintaining the direction from the beginning and will have far reaching consequences to the end of the training course.

The first phase of the ADDIE process is the Analysis phase. Because during this process information is gathered about learning issues, this phase is often referred to as the discovery phase.

To learn more about the specifics and 6 Key Points involving the first of the ADDIE Model, the Analysis Phase, vist this here...ADDIE Analysis Phase.

ADDIE Model Outline

The Instructional Design ADDIE Model is a rather complex course development process. The instructional development process will involve several disciplines that can help to produce sound training development for better e-learning instructional design courses.

The ADDIE Model presents a comprehensive collections of the most important training design key points that are pivotal in the creation of all training courses regardless of the course delivery, regardless if the training is instructor led, online e-learning or blended.

What is instructional design? We can now start to expand upon the initial definition: Instructional Design is a process of gathering information. The first step in this ADDIE Model process is called the Analysis Phase.
