What is Awareness Training?
Just as the term implies, it is designed to raise attention to make one more aware.
Purpose of Awareness?
The purpose is to prevent and reduce potential self inflicted health related accidents.
What Makes Better eLearning?
You want to communicate audibly when possible and visually with relative graphics, animation and sound.
You want to communicate instructively with solid cohesive underlying correctly instructional design learning theory principles that will properly guide the eLearning creation process.
You want to communicate interactively with practice, activity, feedback, and just-in-time popup coaches to help provide effective eLearning opportunity.
You want to include Summary Screens, Quick Quizzes in relatively short iterations between subject content throughout each lesson.
Using Flash could help to create a very engaging and effective eLearning project for you company.
Technically Speaking?
The course interface should provide relative and freedom of navigation. Try not to restrict the learner by imposing linear navigation that force the user to visit each screen. In rare occasions this restrictive navigation might be necessary such as in a case where an attest ion or critical acknowledgment screen might be required.
Course Menu - A course menu should provide ease and freedom of navigation throughout the course. From a usability standpoint, the menu should remain in a traditional area such as at the top of the course interface.
User Progress - A critical tracking feature should provide visual confirmation to the lessons and topics visited. A comprehensive course status progression graphic should display user progress based on successful completions of certain pages or quizzes and assessments.

Visually Speaking
With the improved graphic technology and programs such as Flash, Illustrator and PhotoShop it is relatively easy and I would strongly recommend creating visually strong graphics for the course content and lesson entry screens.
The course can have a professional appearance and provided necessary aesthetics to reinforce content and command user attention.
Instructionally Speaking
There is nothing more common than to find a multitude of projects that lack proper instructional design. Objectives are not performance based, the course may lack cohesiveness, without defining the eLearning domain the course cannot address the intended terminal goal.
There are general precautions everyone should follow. Proper eLearning and Instructional Design could help to heighten cognizance and focus attention toward potential dangerous circumstance.
